Performance

The key objectives of the Performance Department are to enhance movement efficiency, increase robustness and improve football performance: this all adds up to FootbALL Fitness.

We aim to maximise player availability; for playing, coaching sessions and football skill development.

Player centred and Coach led.

The development of each individual person and player sits at the centre of everything we do: our Academy is Player centred and Coach led.

This means we continue to develop and evolve players by age and position.

We have a big focus on making sure the ‘Player is at the Centre’ of everything we do. It is our primary responsibility to identify and provide the correct support for whatever development needs a player may have.

We ensure that we have the right games, right training and the right opportunities for the right players.

Playing Philosophy

Proactive, positional play designed to dominate possession and control the tempo.

Building from the back, using the goalkeeper and defenders to initiate attacks.

Nutrition

Nutrition is essential for our academy players because it provides the energy needed for training, matches, and recovery.

A well-balanced diet helps young players maintain high performance levels, improve concentration, and reduce fatigue during training sessions and games.

Good nutrition also supports healthy growth and development, which is particularly important during adolescence. Consuming the right balance of carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals helps build strong muscles, strengthen bones, and reduce the risk of injury.

Proper hydration and nutrition aid recovery after exercise, allowing players to train consistently and improve over time. By developing healthy eating habits early, our academy players can maximise their potential both on and off the pitch.
